Hingham is a historical town located 16 miles south of Boston on the South Shore which provides easy driving access to Boston via Rt 3 or one can catch a ride on the commuter ferry or the commuter train which both have stops in town. Hingham residents enjoy the town’s many beautiful conservation and recreational areas such as the conservation park located at World’s End, which is a part of The Trustees Conservation Land and the Boston Harbor Islands National Park. Another area known as Wompatuck State Park is public recreational land that has 3,500 acres with trails for walking or biking and includes a camping area. Hingham is home to three distinct shopping districts which include the Hingham Shipyard located on Hingham Bay which hosts a cinema, grocery store, restaurants and retail shopping, Derby Street Shoppes located just off Rt 3 at which you’ll find restaurants and retail shopping, as well as the town’s own historical center which is home to many boutique businesses and restaurants. The town is well respected for its educational resources as well as its athletics and extracurricular programs. Hingham borders the towns of Cohasset, Weymouth, Norwell, Hull plus the Atlantic Ocean.
